Society of Women Engineers partner with the RMB-ERC

The Society of Women Engineers, advised by Dr. Cindy Waters partnered with the RMB-ERC to deliver an exciting outreach event for area Junior and cadette girl scouts.  April 10th, 2010 was a beautiful day and 80 5th-8th grade student girls scouts arrived on campus for an exciting 5 hour introduction to various areas of engineering.  They designed and launched "coke" bottle rockets , measured their CO2 emissions, designed puffmobile cars and raced them and worked as a team to unclog a clogged bronchial tube!  Survey questions revealed that 70% of the girls' interest in engineering was increased.
